Once again, Fairfax4Horses is participating in the Vienna Halloween Parade! We invite equestrians to ride their horses or to be an escort walking alongside the horses in the 2018 Vienna Halloween Parade, on Wednesday, October 24th at 7:00 p.m. The parade goes along Maple Avenue from the Giant Supermarket to Center Street, about one-half mile. This year's theme is "Celebrating Great Cities of the World."

This is a great community event, and the parade observers love seeing the horses. However, please remember that the parade will take place in the dark and there will be crowds, noise, and unusual costumes. This is not an event for skittish or green horses.  It is a challenging environment, and safety is our first priority.  You should plan to participate only if your horse has experience in similar settings and a track record of remaining calm in them.

RSVP by Friday, October 19th if you would like to participate. Send your name, the names of everyone in your group, cell phone numbers, e-mail addresses, ages of any minor children, and names and descriptions of the horses you will bring to:

Riders younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We will contact you with details about where and when to meet. Feel free to spread the word, but please be clear about the need to restrict participation to calm, experienced horses only.

Whatever costume you wear to reflect Great Cities of the World, remember to wear a helmet if you are riding.  If you'll be a side-walker, it's also good to wear a helmet or cowboy hat to identify yourself as a member of our group.

Though the parade takes place rain or shine, we will not ride if it's raining, though some of us might still participate on foot or in our decorated pickup truck.
